Seamless Scenes with Multiple Channels

When you use multiple channels to display a scene because you want more than a 45 degree FOV, you should disable HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Ambient Occlusion (HBAO+). If you do not, there are visual issues where the channels overlap. For example, if there is a light point that is positioned on the line between the two channels, the halo effect is shown unevenly across the two channels.

To disable HDR and HBAO+:

  1. In the MAK ONE application, choose Settings > Display.

  2. Select the Observer Settings page.

  3. Select the observer that is assigned to the channels for displaying greater FOV, for example, Observer 1.

  4. Make sure the observer mode is the 3D mode that you are using, for example, Stealth or Out-the-Window.

  5. Clear the Ambient Occlusion (HBAO+) check box.

  6. Select the HDR page.

  7. Clear the Enable High Dynamic Range check box.

To improve performance, MAK ONE applications disable ambient occlusion (HBAO+) by default when you use a virtual reality device (HMD).
